PLA is the entry-level material — easy to print, great detail, biodegradable, but limited in heat and impact resistance. Ideal for visual prototypes, models, and non-functional parts.
ABS brings impact resistance and higher temperature performance. Its ability to be acetone-smoothed to a near-injection-molded finish makes it popular for presentation prototypes. PETG is the all-arounder — easier than ABS, tougher than PLA, food-safe grades available.
